Nothing brings a family together (after prayer of course) like cooking together. And nothing brings mothers and daughters together like baking together. This afternoon we pulled out our rolling pin (yes, only one- sharing is part of the togetherness experience), beaters, bowls and fresh ingredients and quintupled the recipe. Lots of flour, lots of mess, lots of fun and lots of cookies!
In her contribution to Stories for the Homeschool Heart, in a short chapter entitled “Grace for the Baking”, Margaret Berns shares how an old and chipped Bundt pan is a surprising instrument of grace for her family. If you like kids, baking and surprises, you’ll love her story. Enjoy these last few days of Advent with those you love most! God bless and happy baking!
